The Department has the mission to develop and to spread out the knowledge and to promote the formation of citizens and professionals compromised to the Environmental Education and consequently with the life, in the search of a sustainable society.
The DCA is the Department that takes care of greater numbers of students in the Forest Institute, it is formed by three areas: Ecology, Conservation of Natural Resources and Meteorology. It offers discipline for the Forest Engineer graduation courses, Agronomic engineering, Surveying Engineering, Agricultural engineering, Chemical engineering, Industrial chemistry, Chemistry Licence, Architecture, Agricultural sciences, Biological sciences (Diplom and baccalaureat in Ecology), Geology, Medicine Veterinary medicine, Zootecnia. In the Postgraduation, it keeps a course of Specialization in Environment Sciences, the CECA (in reorganization) and offers disciplines for the Program of Postgraduation in Environment and Forest Sciences (Master and Doctor).
