In all the world the alert on the loss of biodiversity has mobilized great part of the scientific community to search ways to stanch the erosion of this patrimony. While the biologist of the conservation are worried in preserving biodiversity in areas still virgim, as the biological reserves, the agroecologists are more worried about the functions that biodiversity can have for the maintenance of the sustainable agricultural production. One of the challenges for the conservation of the biodiversity and maintenance of the environmental services in agroecossystems is exactly the conciliation of the two boardings of research: the Agroecology and the Biology of the Conservation. The Laboratory of Ecology and Conservation works with these two boardings in focus studies in insects. Forest Engineer Graduation Students, Biological Sciences and Agronomy can develop research projects of scientific initiation or on conclusion of course to the research group. Postgraduation student can be guided inside the Environment and Forest Sciences programs, IF and Animal Biology, IB.
