The Landscapes Management Laboratory initiated its activities in 1991 and served as base for the development of research projects and extension, financed by FAPERJ, CNPq, PRODETAB/EMBRAPA and FINEP, beyond the resources of City halls, of the MEC and the proper UFRRJ. During its functioning, doctor, master and specialization students, as well as graduation students, scholarship holders and other trainees had carried through its teses, dissertations and monographs in the forest ground areas, Phytossociology, environmental education, urban arborization and forest scenic resources. The LMP has also served as support for the practical lessons of Landscapes Management discipline, in the graduation, and Urban Forest, in the Postgraduation, beyond having constituted an important space for forest engineer projects, as expert technician a demand of the Public Power and projects of recovery of degraded areas and urban arborization, in contribution with municipal agencies.
