In the Laboratory of Energy of the Wood are developed works objectifying the knowledge of the energy potentialities of forest species and other lignocelulosic raw materials. Students registered discipline IF-315 - Chemical Technology of the Wood, trainees and scholarship holders participates of practical activities and research in this laboratory, in the search of information inside of the Area of production and use of renewal fuel.
Having for base the available infrastructure, the Laboratory of Energy of the Wood has conditions to lead research works inside the following lines: determination of the carbon content of vegetal raw material and derivatives, pyrolyse of lignocelulosic materials, production and use of vegetal coal and sub-products of the pyrolyse, quali-quantitative analysis of vegetal coal and sub-products of the pyrolyse, construction and operation of charcoal ovens, immediate chemical analysis of vegetal coal, quantitative analysis of the pyrolyse sub-product of lignocelulosic materials, briquetagem of moinha of coal and lignocelulosic residues, etc.
