The Laboratory of Wood Drying, of the Department of Forest Products, counts on one of the most modern pilot plants of wood drying in Brazil, developing programs of drying for different wooden species and dimensions parts, through the automatized control of all variable. In the Laboratory are given practical lessons of Wood Drying, of the Forest Engineer course of the UFRRJ, illustrating the wood shipment and piling, and the accompaniment of the interactions of the variable involved wood drying, beyond the evaluation of the final quality of the dry parts. The research involves Graduation and Postgraduation students, in projects of scientific initiation, master and doctor, in the areas of wood drying and sawed wood thermal treatment and products as wood packings.
